The Registration Process

In February 2008,  the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships  will be held in Whistler, BC,  followed by four World Cup events.  Refer to our  2008/2009 Job Opportunities  page to learn about the events.

We need more volunteers for 2008 than ever before.  We encourage you to join our team of volunteer race workers.  Have fun, meet many great people, make a meaningful contribution to ski racing in Canada,  and be part of the action.

The Registration Web site for all of the Whistler Races in February 2008 is now

Whistler Alpine Event Volunteers

Up to now, registration for these races has been accepted on the Alpine Canada Alpin  Winterstart Web site.   The Winterstart site will no longer be used for the 2008 Whistler Races.  All volunteers must register or re-register on the Whistler Alpine Event Volunteers Web site.

These pages will record new information, as it becomes known.  However, the Whistler Alpine Event Volunteers  site should be considered to provide the most recent information and 'the last word' on volunteer affairs for the 2008 races.

Owen,  Patman,  and our coordinators have all registered. Owen says it's do-able..  Everyone needs to Register.

For those volunteers who want to become part of skiing history, the 2008 Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships offers a special opportunity and a challenge.  Starting about January 30, we will be building the first ever course on the brand new Ladies Olympic Downhill on the newly widened Franz's Run on Whistler .  Brand new Alpina net systems are being installed and summer construction is still underway on some sections of the track, including the skiers tunnel that the ladies track passes over at Highway 86.  Building the track is going to be all new and challenging and the result should be one of the best ladies tracks in the world.    Following the "Canadians", the Ladies course will be maintained for the World Cup Races.
