Whistler Weasel Workers, our leader, Owen Carney and about other
notable Weasel Workers. The

Another training run got off today in Whistler in preparation
for the long awaited DH tomorrow. The
Weasel Workers have been working overtime to get this course
in shape and many of the racers are very appreciative. They know the
show won't go on if the course is not in perfect condition.

of the Year for 2007
May 2007 - In addition to his work with
WCSS, Cook actively volunteers with the
Whistler Museum and Archives, Millennium Place, the Weasel Workers and
the Whistler Fisheries Stewardship Group.

(March 21, 2006) - After tons of
the fluffy stuff fell on the Dave Murray Downhill Tuesday, and the
Championship race was delayed several times, men’s downhill racing
action was successfully underway thanks to the hard work by the
Whistler Weasel Workers and race organizing committee.

and abroad.

October 2004 - Carney was selected for his efforts in
building courses and leading the infamous Weasel Workers.
The Weasel Workers are now a world-renowned volunteer organization
that help build and manage ski race courses, but it all started in
Whistler during the mid-1970s when a few diligent parents wanted to
help prepare for the coming World Cup races.

Feeback 2002 - Karl Ricker (M.Sc. Geol 1968) reports,
" The
biggest (volunteer) challenge was the World Cup Downhill/Super Giant
Slalom event at Lake Louise where we 25 volunteer “Whistler Weasel
Workers” (a legitimate group!), arrived to find mountain sheep still
grazing on the barren upper one third of the course. Seven
days
later it was skiable and the sheep were fenced off the course.
